Prop 8
Submitted by Craig on Tue, 10/07/2008 - 8:54pm.In the course of being a father, I've learned many lessons, and the least of these is that my son is a sponge when it comes to learning. He picks up on everythnig I do, and everything I say. It reminds me of the country song "Watching You" by Rodney Atkins.
So, when I see something that will affect what my son will learn, and eventually become part of him, and when that's something that I don't agree with, I'll take action. Concerning Prop 8, this is one of them. There are a number of issues concerning the prop 8 vote this November, but the most important is that I look out for my son. I don't think that a school or anyone else should have the power to teach my son moral issues that I don't agree with. I feel that as a parent I should have that power to teach my son when I feel he is ready, not in kindergarten!
Here's a video that I think outlines the matter very well.
Hayden is Walking!
Submitted by Craig on Thu, 05/22/2008 - 6:57am.Graduation and other adventures
Submitted by Craig on Tue, 04/29/2008 - 8:50pm.Where to start... I haven't posted in a long time, and I think it's high time that I start again. I finally graduated with my Bachelors Degree in CIT and now I have all sorts of time in the evenings. I've switched roles in a sense with Jennie. She is currently finishing up her Associates degree and has class during the day, and homework at night. While I on the other hand watch Hayden while I'm working and then do the housework at night after he's gone to bed.
We'll be here until June and then we're headed west, out to Cali. We're heading down to Livermore this weekend to look for housing. We'de like to stay in Livermore, that's where all our friends live, and that's the Ward that we know. Also, it wouldn't be much of a commute for me, though I'm not all that adverse to the commute. We're also looking in Tracy, and it's looking like that might be the better option.
Hayden - Weeks 3-6
Submitted by Craig on Wed, 08/15/2007 - 5:06pm.The end of our lazy summer days is fast approaching, much to our sadness. We will be returning to Rexburg the last week of August. Back to the work/school grind. We will be busy busy bees. Craig will be carrying 15 credits, working part time and watching Hayden when Mommy goes to class. Jennie will be working part time from home, and attending school part time.
Craig has been working hard as his full time internship at Sandia National Labs comes to an end. They have plenty of work for such a dedicated, talented man. Thankfully they have asked Craig to continue to work part-time remotely, so Jennie will be able to stay home and take care of the wee one.

Muir Woods Trip - June 22, 2007
Submitted by Craig on Mon, 06/25/2007 - 11:46am.With baby fast approaching, Craig and I decided to get busy with some sight seeing. I wanted to show him some of the huge trees that grow here in California. The closest place was Muir Woods National Monument, just north of San Francisco. The California Costal Giant Redwoods were awe inspiring. We learned that they only grow in this small strip of Northern California, and that they are the tallest living things in the world. The woods have a reverent feel to them. It is one of the most peaceful places I've been in the natural world, aside from the Sacred Grove. Here are some pictures to give you an idea. They don't do the wood justice, but short of taking you myself, what can I do?
Please look at the pictures we took of this amazing place!
